Policies

Who is a state government employee?

For Missouri State Library services, the following are considered state government employees: persons currently employed by executive, legislative, and judicial agencies, as well as paid commission members and paid board members.

Employees of public school systems, higher education institutions, and local governments may be served by their public and institutional libraries.

Retirees

Retired state employees are welcome to visit the State Library and check out materials from our circulating collections in person.

However, retired individuals will not have access to digital resources through the State Library due to vendor license agreements. Retired individuals may also request State Library materials via interlibrary loan through their local library.
