Policies

Who is considered a qualifying state government employee?

For Missouri State Library cards and services, the following are considered state government employees: persons currently employed by executive, legislative, and judicial agencies, as well as paid commission members and paid board members.

Employees of public school systems, higher education institutions, and local governments may be served by their public and institutional libraries. Requests for circulating State Library materials can be placed via interlibrary loan.

Retirees

Retired state employees are welcome to visit the State Library by appointment to use any of our collections in person.

However, retired individuals will not have access to digital resources through the State Library due to vendor license agreements.

Retired individuals may also request State Library materials via interlibrary loan through their local library.
